About White Cane WeekThe first week of February has been recognized as White Cane Week in Canada since 1946. This recognition week aims to demonstrate that a large number of people who are blind or who have low vision have active lives and are contributing to society: children develop normally, young people are studying, adults are working, and many of them engage in social, cultural and leisure activities. Thanks to assistive technology and to professional support, people with vision loss can continue living normal lives. In this context, White Cane Week plays an essential role in improving our understanding of the lives of people living with vision loss. | ||||||
